The LMC believes it is very important to have an updated, signed, regularly reviewed partnership agreement. This defines how the practice should run, the rules and regulations by which the partners govern the practice. It should be available for signature by prospective new partners. Whilst it may not cover every possible scenario, it can be useful in settling disputes. A partnership agreement is best drawn up by a solicitor who is experienced in this work (LMC can provide some names) and who can advise the partners. The more a practice can work up the agreement beforehand, the better.
