When NHSE announced the Vulnerable Practices scheme and GP Resilience Programme, the LMC were keen to get on board. We already provide a high level HR service and have in recent years introduced a training function for practices. We already have a good model of professional associates who work under the banner of the LMC and provide specialist support and advice to practices.
The Vulnerable Practices scheme is now closed to new applicants. The GP Resilience Programme is a four year programme running until 2019/20. The funding available to across the LMC Consortium patch is shown in the table below:
This programme aims to deliver a menu of support that will help practices become more resilient and sustainable, better placed to tackle the challenges they face now and into the future
We have been working hard in the LMC to gear ourselves up to this challenge, utilising the experience and expertise we already have within our GP communities and engaging a wider pool of colleagues in order to expand our support package to General Practice. There is strong endorsement at both national and local level to the LMC being involved in this programme as providers of support.
We have been actively engaged with many of the local practices accessing the Vulnerable Practice Scheme and the GP Resilience Programme – to provide diagnostic services and/or to develop and deliver support packages. If your practice is looking to seek support from the GP Resilience Programme, please read our LMC Offer – this sets out how we could help your practice access these funds and make a real difference in dealing with the pressures you are experiencing.
