CQC Provider Information Collection

Hot Topic
CQC Provider Information Collection

Practices are now starting to receive telephone calls from CQC Inspectors, which form the Provider Information Collection (PIC). The PIC is only for practices who are currently rated Good or Outstanding.

The LMC would like to reiterate that this is purely a telephone conversation between the practice and the inspector and that it is not an inspection. Therefore, there shouldn’t be any request for further information to be sent to the inspector either before or after the call. This call should last approximately one hour but it may go slightly over if there are any supplementary questions that need to be asked. The supplementary questions will relate to findings within the practice’s Insight Report, which is based on information from QOF, the GP Patient Survey, NHS Business Services Authority and Public Health England.

The list of core questions plus further guidance on the PIC can be found here
