Salary:£38,890 - £44,503 per annum, pro rata

In this role you will be the clinical nurse specialist for the well established Rapid Diagnostic Service for non specific symptoms and will have an instrumental role in supporting and coordinating patient care whilst working with the team to ensure the patient has a smooth and timely journey through the non specific symptoms pathway.

You will be required to work a pattern which gives cover over all five working days, Monday to Friday

ABOUT THE TEAM

You will be joining an exciting, up and coming rapid diagnostic service team within the city of Preston. This is a newly developed service which is delivered by virtual and face to face models of care. This service is to provide a cancer fast track referral route for patients seen in Primary Care with non-specific symptoms. The RDS aims to speed up diagnosis for this typically hard to diagnose group and to improve overall patient experience.

You will be part of a small team and will very much be part developing the service further. The service ineeds you to come and join the team to broaden the scope of the service and work as part of business as usual for our cancer pathways and services.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

On a day to day basis you will be engaging directly with clinical, medical and nursing teams in the management of patents, providing specialist advice, skills leadership, collaboration and consultancy.

You will undertake autonomous working through provision of initiation of investigations, interpretation of results and optimising patients’ condition in discussion with the multidisciplinary team.

You will work closely with the RDS Team and actively supporting the Lead nurse for the service.

You will also work closely with primary care colleagues.
