We are looking for a nurse to join our friendly, enthusiastic, and innovative 8-partner / 12 doctor practice serving 15,500+ patients. The GPs are supported internally by a great team including - Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists/Medicines Management team, Paramedics, Physio, and an extensive Practice Nurse/Health Care Assistant team, and externally by our Integrated Care Community. We pride ourselves on continuity and quality of care, innovation, and research, and have strong management and admin support teams. Our aim is to provide high quality care to our patients, whilst maintaining a good work life balance for all our staff. Excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic nurse to join and eventually lead our multi skilled team as Lead Practice Nurse. Our current Lead Nurse is currently training to be an ANP and is still acting as lead nurse and will support the new nurse.
We are looking for an experienced nurse interested in training to become a Lead Nurse. The lead practice nurse role is a vital and varied one and the successful candidate would ideally be able to undertake the full range of core clinical competencies as identified on the job description and over time, and with training and support, provide strong clinical and administrative lead to the team. We are looking for that exceptional Practice Nurse who is driven to ensuring excellent care to our patients, who is experienced to support our team of five practice nurses, a Nurse Associate and four Health Care Assistants in all areas and who is still wishing to develop and explore their own clinical expertise. We believe in strong clinical and management leadership with a clear emphasis on teamwork and adaptability to ensure a happy working environment and good work-life balance. Willingness to be or develop into Lead Nurse at Queen Square Medical Practice.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population. As the team leader for the general practice nursing team (nurses and health care assistants), the post holder is accountable for nursing service delivery. They will lead and manage all the nursing resources, working closely with the GPs and practice manager to deliver the practice priorities. Clinically, the focus of the role is the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients with acute and chronic conditions and management and preventative nursing interventions to all patients. You will work collaboratively with the whole general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery and procedures and providing leadership and direction for the nursing team. Queen Square Medical Practice is a proudly independent, vibrant, friendly, and innovative practice. We have 7 GP partners and 5 associate GP's; pharmacists and Practitioners who are supported by an excellent multi skilled nursing team and admin team. The management team work closely together. In addition to normal GP services we run Sexual Health, Gynaecology, Fertility clinics.
We are also an award-winning lead research practice working in close alliance with other research active practices across the Morecambe Bay CCG footprint.
