Salary £45,000 – £50,000 per year (dependent on experience) 

Full-time An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Practice Manager at Mansion House Surgery which provides primary care services to approximately 7,000 patients from a beautifully restored Georgian mansion in the centre of Whitehaven. The partners are looking for an exceptional leader with strong business management skills, particularly in managing staff, human resources (HR), project management, public relations, and strategic planning. In addition to this, they should have experience of managing IT systems. 

The successful candidate will need to be able to work collaboratively with the partners, as a group and individually, to develop and implement strategies. They will lead a wider practice team, including a finance manager. They will need to have demonstrable project management experience and be able to manage concurrent projects from start to finish using quality improvement methodologies. 

We are looking for a confident and resilient individual with excellent communication skills. It is essential that the new manager can ensure that the practice continues to run smoothly, working closely with the Primary Care Network (PCN) and exploring opportunities for collaborative working. 

They will ensure that the building is utilised effectively, review the staffing structure, and propose and implement change where required. Individuals should be adaptable and able to understand and respond to the diverse and dynamic nature of the role, being able to balance the needs of the practice with the ever-changing challenges of providing healthcare.
