Practice Nurse - Primrose Bank Medical Centre

We are looking to recruit an Experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly team of 4 GP Partners, Nurse, HCA and Admin Team. Ideally we are looking for full time, however, we would consider part time. We are a Training Practice and have just under 10,000 Patients. Primrose Bank Medical Centre based close to Blackburn town centre with our branch site, Ewood Medical Centre, across town near Blackburn Rovers Football ground. The ability to work across both sites is essential. 

We envisage you as being the Lead Nurse and therefore would have had at least 2 years experience of working in General Practice. The hours vary from 7.30am to 6pm. You will be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population. It will be necessary to have knowledge of current Primary Care contracts, eg the Quality and Outcomes Framework, GMS contract and locally commissioned contracts as this is a vital element of the post. Participate in the education of students of all disciplines. You will be the lead infection control person and be responsible for the ordering and stock control of vaccines and check emergency drugs. It would be an asset if you had experience in actioning blood results. Updating and adhering to the clinical protocols/PGDs, attending regular practice meetings, nurse forums and ongoing training is essential. 

Nursing procedures to include, but not limited to 

· Assessment, Screening & Treatment Services 

· Blood pressure checks 

· Urinalysis 

· Dietary advice 

· Health screening 

· Cervical cytology 

· Phlebotomy 

· Travel vaccinations and advice 

· Contraception advice/checks 

· Routine immunisations and vaccinations 

· Baby immunisations 

· Diagnose and manage chronic conditions 

Salary is dependant on experience
