Advanced Nurse Practitioner 

Full Time 

£50k - £55k

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, highly motivated individual to the role of Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

We are a large forward-thinking practice with more than 17,200 patients, based in the centre of Chorley.  Due to a growing list we are now looking to recruit additional Advanced Nurse Practitioners.

We have regular practice meetings, with a structured meeting rota including whole staff meetings, clinical meetings, safeguarding meeting and protected time for training.  We have a multidisciplinary, clinical team made up of Doctors, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Pharmacists, First Contact Physios, a range of specialised Nurses and Health Care Assistants.  We are a training practice and have a number of junior doctors working at site, including FY2s, ST1s – ST3s.  The practice benefits from a well-structured management team which is led by a Practice Business Manager.  We would be happy to support and encourage your professional development to add to our diverse and enthusiastic team.

Main Roles and responsibilities:

  • In this role you will work independently, making professional, autonomous decisions.
  • You will be responsible for making any necessary referrals, requests for investigations and do these in in an appropriate manner and timescale.
  • The role will involve initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan and evaluation of patient care.

  • The role will involve independent prescribing within the scope of professional practice.
  • The advanced nurse practitioner will support the GP team managing same day appointment requests from patients.
  • The nurse practitioner will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly, seeking GP input as appropriate where the problem lies outside their professional capability.
  • You will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and a high level of independent care including assessment, diagnostic and prescribing skills.
  • You will attend patients with urgent medical problems
