The LMC represents all GPs, including Salaried, Locums and Portfolio.
We aim to help all GPs regarding any issues with their contractual status and with any other matter relating to work, including remuneration, terms and conditions of service, pensions, locum agreements, complaints and disputes, partnership, employment, practice management/ relationships issues.
We are keen to give Sessional GPs representation and a voice. Sessional’s working across Lancashire & Cumbria are welcome and very much encouraged to become members of their respective Local Medical Committee.
We know information flow to Sessional’s is often poor and haphazard, this relates to all areas, clinical and non-clinical, CPD, medical politics, organisational, job opportunities, appraisal and revalidation, pensions, etc.
As an LMC we have, therefore, set up a ‘Virtual Practice’ for Sessional GPs. Information a GP practice would receive is stored here in one place. You can access this wherever you are working by visiting our Virtual Practice page.
We also host and support the Lancashire & Cumbria Sessional GP group which meet bi-monthly in Preston. You are very welcome to attend.
Useful information that comes in is directly passed on via our sessional GPs email distribution list.
Whether you are starting out as a Sessional GP or have been one for some time, we hope you find the resources and information on these pages useful.
Please let Mariah know if you think we should add something else to our website that would be beneficial to you.
