Are you a Nurse, Paramedic or a Pharmacist who wishes to work in unscheduled care, is ready to take the next step in your career and undertake an MSc in Advanced Practice? 

Would you like to be an integral part of developing and delivering the Unscheduled Care pathway for our patients? 

Are you looking to develop your career in general practice delivering acute care in the right place and at the right time? 

You would be part of an established Unscheduled Care team of GP's and Advanced Clinical Practitioners. The advertised role is a two year fixed term position, with the view to be offered a permanent contract on completion. Working pattern will be 0800 until 1830 with an extended access commitment. Bay Medical Group operate out of 5 local sites and you may be expected to work at any of these sites. 

Main duties of the job 

We offer: Apprenticeship access to the two year programme for MSC in Advanced Practice at UCLAN starting September 2024. Upon successful completion of the course we would aim to offer a permanent contract. A supportive general practice environment with an established multi-disciplinary team working in Unscheduled Care. An environment and team that has many years experience of supporting students and professionals continuing their professional studies. We support medical students and Registrars, we work with the local Training Hub to support student nurses, we have a number of apprentices including Apprentice MSc Advanced Practitioners, and we support our Pharmacists through the PCPE Pathway and each year have supported members of the clinical team to become registered prescribers. Working a mix of telephone triage and patient-facing care. As well as working in our UC team there will be opportunity to develop your skills in a specialist area once qualified. Peer support and a planned educational programme for clinical teams. A large supportive team including back office teams, Nurses, Mental Health team, Medicines Management team including Pharmacist and Admin. Holistic approach to care through close working relationships with the extended Primary Care Health Team including in-house physio appointments, Long Term Conditions Team and DN and the ICC. As part of this role it may be a requirement for the post holder to work a late shift one day a week (09:30 - 20:00).

Bay Medical Group is proud to be the general practice serving the population of Morecambe and Heysham. We operate out of 5 sites and deliver general medical services to c54,000 patients. Formed in 2016/17 by established legacy practices in the town, we are fortunate to be a single at scale provider in a distinct geographical area and as such were able to establish the Primary Care Network (PCN) for Morecambe and Heysham in July 2019, with Bay Medical Group as the only Practice in the PCN.
