We are looking to expand our clinical team which has created an exciting opportunity for the addition of a Salaried GP. We have a patient population of around 12,200 patients and cover a demographically diverse population. At its core, our Salaried GPs work as a member of the Practice team and provide a critical role in delivering appointments and access to our registered population. We are an innovative and forward-thinking Practice, open to making improvements and constantly reviewing the needs of our patient population to ensure we are meeting expectation with a multi-skilled healthcare professional team to support with this. As a Practice we are fully aware of the challenges and pressures that Primary Care is currently facing, however we proactively review and work collaboratively in the Practice and within our local PCN to ensure that we are able to use as many resources as are available to us, work flexibly and think outside the box so as not to be duplicating and creating more work alongside offering a supportive working environment for colleagues. Our Salaried GP could expect to be issued a workplan upon joining the Practice of which would consist of appointment lists which would include a combination of face to face, telephone, video consultations, home visits and in time online consultations. We have a current on call rota which is shared across the GP Partners and Salaried GPs, which ensures that a fair share allocation. We would look for the Salaried GP to have a list holding mentality, offering continuity and ongoing case management alongside associated administrative workloads including management of results/medicines management workloads and cover of other colleagues’ workloads in cases of absence as is currently done. 

As a Practice that is very keen on education and development, we would be looking for support to the many medical student placements and allocations that we take and are keen to look to develop the training practice aspects of our Practice over time of which there is opportunity to be part of – we also welcome applications from any GPs that currently educational / clinical supervisors presently. You would work closely and be supported by our GP Partners, Salaried GP’s, Clinical Pharmacist, Practice Nurses, Physician Associates, alongside our Primary Care Network colleagues of Clinical Pharmacists, Mental Health Practitioner, First Contact Physio, Social, Health & Wellbeing Practitioners, Occupational Therapist, and Care Home Teams. In addition to this you would have regular contact and engagement with the various non-clinical teams across the Practice. The Practice has gone through much change over the last few years. We have many workstreams and contractual obligations to meet for our patient population and to ensure the effective smooth running of the Practice. Our Practice Team play an important role within this and ensuring our patients have access to support as needed. Working Pattern 4-6 Sessions per week – we are open to negotiating the working week, however have particular needs for support on Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays at present. Sessional set up can be agreed with the successful candidate we are flexible to whether the clinician would prefer 10 or 15 minute appointments and currently support a variety of clinic set ups which are most comfortable for the clinician but still meet the needs of the service offering. Rate of Pay Is negotiable depending on the experience and any other additional agreed duties / lead areas / additional opportunities that the GP could bring to the practice e.g., taking responsibility for a patient list/educational or clinical supervisor status Annual Leave 6 weeks (pro rota for part time) Study Leave 1 week’s study leave – added to your leave balance and used as preferred. There are then additional opportunities through the Practice alongside this. 

Engagement 

The Practice holds various Departmental and Practice meetings to help build relationships and keep the communication across teams consistent. The Practice also participates in collective learning set events once a month where there are internal and external events, as well as PCN events for networking. The successful candidate may also be asked to represent at meetings and or development sessions for new or existing programmes the Practice would be looking to use or introduce, and or where beneficial through the medicines management boards as directed. The successful candidate can expect an induction programme to ease into the Practice which would be led by our Business Manager.

We strive to be an open-minded, friendly, supportive, and inclusive team. Parcliffe Medical Centre is an innovative and forward-thinking Practice led by our Partnership (5 GP’s). In purpose-built premises inside St Anne’s Health Centre, with a current patient population of around 12,200 patients. Located in the seaside town of St Anne’s along the Fylde Coast, we are minutes away from the sea front, with direct links to the M55 & M6. We are a friendly, professional, caring team who are passionate about providing safe and effective care to our patient population. Our excellent multi-skilled Clinical Team comprises of 7 GPs (Partner & Salaried), Clinical Pharmacist, Physicians Associate, Practice Nurses, Nursign Associate & Healthcare Assistants. Supporting our Partnership, clinical team and the patient journey through the Practice, our team also includes our Management Team, Receptionists, Patient Advisors, Workflow Administrators, Medical Secretaries and Medicines Management Team. Alongside offering the standard contractual requirements of General Medical Services in Primary Care, we do in addition have enhanced bespoke services to our patients in Minor Surgery, Microsuction and are also one of the Covid Vaccination sites within our Primary Care Network. Parcliffe Medical Centre is a consistently high performer in relation to its contractual obligations including QOF and Quality Contract services. As active members of the Lytham St Anne’s Primary Care Network, the Practices also have access to shared services and resources. We have active links to community services with Clinical Director attendances to operational meetings, and various forums to help shape any needed changes and work collectively with services. We have an extended access service provided through the PCN as well as leadership on various projects for the area of which include Population Health management in areas looking to highlight and support some of the health inequalities in the area. 

Teaching, Training and Development 

The Practice has a long history of training – we have trained GP registrars, student nurses, medical students and physician associates alongside the development of our medicines management team. We are committed to the congoing development of the entire team, including mandatory and developmental training for all our staff. Team members are encouraged to highlight any training they feel would benefit them in the achievement of their role. The Practice considers funding in the form a learning agreement with staff members for any additional training which is felt to be mutually beneficial to the individual and practice.
