Sandy Lane Surgery Medical Coder and GP Practice Administrator
Approximately 20 hours per week (Monday full day – rest of hours the practice can discuss with the right candidate)

Sandy Lane Surgery is a dedicated healthcare practice committed to providing exceptional patient care and support. We are currently seeking a Patient Support Administrator to join our team and contribute to our mission of enhancing patient well-being and engagement. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with excellent organisational skills to join our busy administrative team.
The role will provide strong administrative support therefore candidates must be able to work as part of a team, independently and be able to demonstrate the following: -
• Excellent organisational abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective communications skills
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to work accurately and methodically
• Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining composure
• Ability to work flexibly between the hours of 8am until 6pm
• Ability to manage own workload.
It is essential that the successful candidates have proven NHS experience in clinical coding/summarising of medical records or understands medical terminology. An understanding and/or previous experience of QOF (Quality outcome framework) and claims. Training will be provided. Salary dependent upon experience.

Job brief summary: - inclusive of but not limited to all role tasks. Coding, distributions and actions of incoming correspondence including scanning of information. Summarising medical records. Answering the Patient Support Telephone Line Registration and deductions of patients. Managing new baby registrations and booking of 1st immunisations. Responsibility for managing Did Not Attend Policy and Audit. Support Senior Management with Patient Representative Group – including sending meeting invites. Supporting QOF recall. Support Wellbeing Champion Support Cancer Champion Support Social Media Support Practice Newsletter for Wellbeing Liaising with peers for day-to-day work to be undertaken with team. At the direction of Senior Management Team – cover for reception if/when required.
