GP Receptionist / Administrator
Dr Dawoud's Surgery Hours: 25 hours per week over 3 days
Salary: Dependent on experience
Dr Dawoud's Surgery is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic GP Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly and busy practice team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual with previous GP surgery experience who is passionate about providing outstanding patient care and administrative support.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a GP surgery
- Excellent knowledge of GP practice systems and procedures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Competent in handling confidential patient information
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using GP clinical systems EMIS Web
Main Duties/Reception Duties:
- Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice in a professional and courteous manner
- Managing incoming telephone calls and patient enquiries Booking, amending and cancelling appointments
- Signposting patients to the most appropriate service
- Processing repeat prescription requests in line with practice procedures
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
Administration Duties
- Processing patient registrations and deductions
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters and clinical documents
- Scanning, coding and filing patient records and correspondence accurately
- Processing referrals and supporting clinicians with referral administration
- Managing workflow tasks and actioning documents on clinical systems
- Handling requests for medical records, insurance reports and subject access requests
- Updating and maintaining accurate patient information on the clinical system
- Supporting recall programmes, including invitations for reviews, screening and vaccinations
- Assisting with QOF and enhanced service administration where required
- Preparing and distributing practice communications and patient letters
- Liaising with hospitals, community services and external healthcare organisations
- General office administration, including filing, photocopying and document management
